Are you looking to host a Rapunzel-themed birthday party but confused about the supply you will need and where to begin with? Then don’t worry, in this article, we have got you covered. We will try to dissect the important things that you should consider before hosting a themed birthday party, especially for someone like our beautiful princess Rapunzel.
To host a themed birthday party it is important that you design every aspect of the party according to the theme decided for the party which in our case is Rapunzel. So try to think about what makes Rapunzel unique and distinguished from other princesses of Disney, The most important thing that comes to mind about her is her magical golden hair and her beautiful purple dress.
She goes on an adventure to see the beautiful lantern festival and finds her true identity. Of course, Flynn Rider helps her in her journey to find herself and plays the perfect prince to our amazing princess.
So keeping this story in mind we are going to design our own party. For throwing a whimsical Rapunzel-themed party, you should design the party based on the following points:
1) Invitations:
First thing first, you should send out amazing invitations. For designing the invitation you can take the help of graphic design websites such as Canva. Try to use the golden and purple combination to match our party theme, as they go with the signature Rapuzel golden hair and purple dress. You can also put pictures of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider on the invitation card. whichever, design you choose make sure it is eye-catching as we all know that children are tempted by sights.
Also, try to put some simple quotes in the invitation that create a sense of adventure and mystery in children.
Also, do not forget to add the date, time and venue on the invitation clearly so that you do not get calls from confused recipients about the date and venue of your party(probably will not be a great way to kick start our party).
Some of the famous quotes of tangled that you can incorporate on your invitations are as follows:
1) “I have magic hair that glows when I sing.”
2)“I want to see the floating lights!”
3)“This is just part of growing up, a little adventure, a little rebellion.”

2) Decorations:
After sending out the invitation, the next thing that you should buckle yourself up for is decoration. Finding the right decoration is an essential part of any themed birthday party as it sets the tone and look of the party.
For our favourite princess Rapunzel, Purple and Golden (because of her purple dress and golden hair) are her colours. Therefore, try to choose decoration pieces that are a combination of purple and gold. You can also add some green to the mix, highlighting her beautiful green eyes(but be careful to keep it only for the undertone and not to overdo it ).
You will need the following items for decorating your themed Rapunzel birthday party:
i) Balloons:
It is a no-brainer that you will need balloons for hosting a birthday party. You can either use custom Rapunxel balloons or go for a purple and gold combination balloon set whichever you think looks and suits best for the theme of the party.
ii) Table Clothing:
Whether you are hosting an outdoor party or an indoor party, you will need tables to arrange food and activities. You can also use custom tablecloths with characters in Rapunzel’s life printed on such as Flynn Rider, Gothel, Maximus and Pascal (you would wanna see Tangled for many more).
iii) Cardboard Cutouts:
Use cardboard cutouts of Rapunzel with all the characters of her story throughout your party zone to increase the look and feel of the party. Distribute your party area into various zones and name them after these characters, afterwards, you can name your snack arrangements or activity based on these zones.
iv) Photobooth:
The next thing that you will need is an amazing photobooth that kids will love to click pictures at. You can look for various designs of Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and her friends to design this photobooth.
3)Games and activities :
Now to make your Rapunzel-themed party lively and memorable, you need to plan some games and activities that kids will enjoy. Some of the games and activities that you can include in your party are:
i) Scavenger hunt:
To make your Rapunzel-themed party entertaining, you can organise a scavenger hunt for kids. Try to make a list of items(or people) related to Rapunzel and her story. Some of these are – the magical plant (that gave her amazing, beautiful and magical hair), her gold locks, a princess tiara, a purple dress, a castle on the hill, Flynn Rider, her best friend and so on. Buy miniature versions of these items and make a cardboard cutout of the ones you don’t find.
Now hide these items and write clues in the form of riddles that can lead kids to them. If they find all of the items on the list then they win this scavenger hunt. Try to come up with interesting riddles which are not overly complicated so that kids can most likely win the game.
ii) Puzzle Game:
You can also add a puzzle game based on Rapunzel theme. To make things even more interesting split the kids into two teams and whichever team solves the puzzle faster wins this game.
Add some kind of prize(or treat like chocolate) at the end of each game to make these activities even more pleasurable for kids.
iii) Karaoke :
Every party needs at least some commotion and singing is just the right one for your party. Kids love singing and it also can be great activity for them to do individually or as a group. Use the theme songs of Tangled(Rapunzel’s movie) for this purpose.
iv) Castle on the Hill ride:
Add some swing rides to your party and decorate them a little bit to commemorate the castle that Rapunzel lived in with her fake(and witch) mother Gothel who purposely kept her in isolation to stop her from finding her true identity.
v) Lantern festival :
This can be a fun and exciting activity for kids that they will love so much. So as we know, Rapunzel saw those bright lanterns in the sky that made her seek out the adventure to find out what they were. This led her to her true identity and out of the clutches of evil Gothel.
To commemorate that you can light some paper candles and release them in the sky. This will make your party even more memorable.
4) Food & snacks:
Food and snacks are other departments that you should nail to host an amazing Rapunzel-themed birthday party.
You can add various snacks like sandwiches, finger chips, and burgers. To make things interesting, name these snacks after various characters like Maximus, Flynn Rider, Pascal (the chameleon and friend of Rapunzel) and Gothel(the witch). To do this, simply label the tables you are going to put these snacks on with the names in some attractive way. This way kids will get excited to get a taste of these amazing snacks.
Other than this, the birthday cake must have a picture of Rapunzel designed on it for it to be a proper Rapunzel-themed birthday party.
5) Costume:
Since it is a themed party, it becomes important to dress the birthday girl in a Rapunzel-themed dress and give her the look of a princess. If you want you can make it a themed dress party and for kids to dress up in something purple or golden, but this of course is not necessary.
6) Thankyou notes with parting gifts
When the party ends, you should give a thank you note to all the kids for all the joy they added to your special day with some parting gifts or maybe a parting treat. It can be a drawing book, a crayon set or simply a treat like chocolate. This certainly would be a great way to end the great day and great party.
