Mickey Mouse really needs no introduction. For generations, he has been the childhood friend of millions of kids around the world. From his stupid adventures to his favourite pal Pluto, Mickey has been in the public eye for so long that it is hard to come up with new info about our favourite Disney character. But just as interesting is our Mickey even more interesting is the story behind him and how he became arguably one of the most popular cartoon characters of all time.
So, who is the man behind Mickey Mouse?
The man behind Mickey Mouse is none other than Walt Disney himself. Although Walt Disney is now known to be the founder of one of the world’s biggest movie production houses, this story of him and Mickey goes back to his earlier days when he was trying to set foot in the industry.
Back in those days, Disney was making animation for other companies. Although his work was top-notch, due to business differences with some of his major clients, he was in a tumultuous situation.
But I think we can all agree that what’s life without little difficulties and every story of hardships comes with a sweet story of redemption. And so it is said that on one train ride to New York Disney construed an animated cartoon character of a Mouse. He envisioned this mouse to have big giant ears and a small button nose. With many forthcoming improvements, our beloved Mouse came onto the horizon.
Initially, Disney wanted to call him Moriarty which he changed to Mickey Mouse later on after his wife’s suggestion(clearly a better choice might I add). And so was born our beloved Mouse and childhood muse, Mickey Mouse!!.
Character traits of Mickey Mouse
Mickey Mouse is generally embodied as a sweet-natured, kinda goofy but funny and smart character. We see him with his friend including his female friend, Minnie Mouse and his beloved dog cum pal Pluto.
Since Mickey’s first debut, he has evolved a lot but his characterization as a friendly and charming character has almost been a constant through and through.
He goes out on various adventures with his friends whom we have seen Mickey with and who might I add, are quite popular themselves like Donald Duck and Goofy. Mickey goes out, has fun, helps his friends makes the most out of the day for us and teaches kids some fun lessons along the way, and hence it proves, an allrounder indeed he is.
Popular Movies and Series
Like any other star, Mickey Mouse has been into loads of movies and TV shows. From his debut(the first one which could find a distributor, I know, right!) in the black and white film “Steamboat Willie” to some of his most popular series such as “Mickey Mouse Club House” and “Mickey Mouse Fun House”, Mickey has set up his empire brick by brick into the heart of generations of kids. Mickey might be for kids but he has seen an evolution of culture, perception and technology of our world and still lives to tell the tale. Now who can really beat that?
Mickey still is a true companion of kids around the world who still learn something from him every day when he says the magic words, Meeska -Mooska Mickey Mouse!!
